The federal government, at the weekend, disclosed a £2 billion special programme known as Project Nollywood to aid the film industry in Nigeria scale beyond its achievements of the past 20 years.

This was just as Akwa Ibom State Governor Godswill Akpabio declared that he has endowed a £33 million, Goodluck Jonathan Prize for the best actors and actresses in Nollywood.

AEG also said it plans to bring top Hollywood actors to Nigeria.

The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) is funding a new Nigerian movie Confusion Na Wa directed by Kenneth Gyang. The movie will feature top Nollywood stars including Ramsey Nouah, Ali Nuhu, OC Ukeje, Tunde Aladese, Tony Goodman and Gold Ikonmwosa.
